Feeling Drained in the Heat? Your Body Might Be Asking You to Slow Down

Longer days and warmer weather should leave us feeling energised. Instead, many people feel tired, restless and uncomfortable. Hot weather places extra demands on the body, sleep can become disrupted, dehydration creeps in and muscles often feel heavier than usual. It is completely normal. Common Signs of Summer Fatigue Feeling tired despite longer days Heavy legs or swollen feet Poor sleep Headaches Low concentration Feeling hot and uncomfortable Tip: By the time you feel thirsty, your body is already starting to dehydrate. Drinking little and often helps more than large amounts all at once. Simple Ways to Feel Better Keep moving gently A short walk helps circulation more than sitting still. Choose lighter meals Fresh fruit, vegetables and protein are easier for the body to process in hot weather. Stay cool Cool showers, loose clothing and avoiding the hottest part of the day all help. Give your body time to recover Massage helps ease muscle tension, improve circulation and encourage deep relaxation, helping both body and mind feel lighter. Tip: Elevating your legs for ten minutes in the evening can help reduce feelings of heaviness after a hot day.
